Te Ika Nui 2012 regatta

The weather was a bit damp but nothing like earlier in the week. A bit of swell outside, 15knot NE and a Hawkesbury River with a belly full of fresh water .

Similar crews from the Pittwater regatta competed on Saturday at Te Ika Nui’s regatta at Ettalong and they are showing real signs of improvement.

Novice Women: Kelly (Ned) and the girls were on fire. With heaps of encouragement they took out first place: got some good prizes for the Coach, thanx. (Need crew photo?)

Short Course: Men & Women: Hmmmm! Its obvious Lindsay has fell back into bad company with his temporary return to Wollongong (Five Islands) –the men well ahead of the Mel D’s women’s crew: a few boat lengths at least!) when Mr Splash struck and the guys spent time with a huli drill. All good and chivalrous but hey guys not on race day! We do have some honour to protect.

Long Course Men: Always an interesting first couple Km after the start as teams race out the channel. We dun good – old canoes are good for a bit of push and shove. The race was out and back to Box head: half flat water and half good fun.
